Industrial Electrician
Job description
Poly Repro Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Industrial Electrician (NOC 72201) to join our team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for laying out, inspecting, assembling, installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining (including programming, calibration and preventitive/predictive maintenance) electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment and wiring for industrial electrical systems, as well as equipment and systems such as motors, generators, distribution equipment systems, wiring systems, lighting systems, motor drives, stand-by power systems, instrumentation, communication, security, renewable energy and energy storage systems.
Responsibilities:
- Plan installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications and install all electrical and electronic devices.
- Systematically diagnoses faults in electrical and electronic systems and equipment and repairs or replaces electrical and electronic components as required.
- Measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles and installs conduits and other electrical conductor raceways.
- Splices and terminates electrical conductors.
- Tests electrical and electronic equipment for proper function.
- Perform routine maintenance on industrial machinery and electrical components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Ensure all work is compliant with local and national electrical codes.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve efficency.
- Respond to electrical emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a four or five year industrial electrician apprenticeship program.
- Five or more years of work experience.
- Red Seal Certification from Skilled Trades ON or equivalent from another Province.
- Licensed with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).
- Strong knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and motor controls.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Execellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
