Your Role as a Master Electrician

As a Master Electrician at Solar X, you will, ensure compliance with safety and electrical codes, and oversee the installation of residential and commercial solar systems, battery storage solutions, and EV chargers. Your expertise will help drive high-quality, efficient, and safe installations while mentoring apprentices and journeyperson electricians.

A typical day at Solar X starts at our operations center, where you’ll coordinate with the team, load materials, and review project scopes before heading to job sites. Our projects span South-Western Ontario, and we work on everything from single-day residential installs to large-scale multi-day projects. Every job is unique, requiring problem-solving, hands-on electrical work, and teamwork to build reliable and high-performing renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Lead and oversee solar PV system installations from start to finish
✅ Install and commission battery storage systems (Tesla Powerwall, Enphase, etc.)
✅ Install and wire EV charging stations for residential and commercial applications
✅ Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations
✅ Train and mentor apprentices and journeyperson electricians
✅ Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on-site
✅ Coordinate with project managers to meet deadlines
✅ Complete inspections and submit necessary documentation
✅ Upload pictures on CRM as required
✅ Quote electrical installs and upgrades for both commercial and residential
✅ Complete Tesla battery training for certifications

What You Bring

- Master Electrician Certification (Ontario 309A)
- Electrical experience (solar, battery, and EV charger experience in Canada is required!)
- Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
- Ability to work at heights is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- A Vehicle for travel is required
- Passion for renewable energy and sustainability
